Uptown Reinvestment Corporation The Uptown Reinvestment Corporation (URC) was formed to strategically target areas in downtown Flint to redevelop.  URCs focus and vision is to acquire vacant and inactive buildings and redevelop them into mixed-use buildings.

University of Michigan-Flint  There are several items that the University would like to see come to fruition as part of a longer term plan. Harrison St. realignment; First and Mill St. Connection; Third Avenue vehicular entry and river crossings are the needs identified by the University of Michigan.

Capitol Theatre The Capitol Theatre's past and future destiny is truly a shrine of entertainment. This wonderful building has been recognized and is listed in the local, state, and national list of historic places.

Flint Cultural Center The Flint Cultural Center, established in 1957 by community leaders, is located in a unique, 30-acre, campus-like setting, east of downtown Flint and consisting of nine diverse cultural institutions.

Grand Traverse The Grand Traverse District Neighborhood District is bounded by Beach Street to the east, Swartz Creek to the west, West Court Street to the South and First and Second Streets to the north.  The neighborhood association wishes to see the residential character of the neighborhood preserved the area from Grand Traverse Street west.

Greater Flint Arts Council The Greater Flint Arts Council (GFAC) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to be a catalyst of, and advocate for, increased arts impact in the community.

Kearsley Park Kearsley Park is a 57-acre park located north of Robert T. Longway and east of I-475 in the City of Flint. Gilkey Creek flows through the middle of the park, much of which is located within the 100-year floodplain.

Kettering University Kettering University was founded as the School of Automotive Trades in 1919, and became the Flint Institute of Technology in 1923. In 1926 the school was adopted by the General Motors Corporation in 1926, and changed its name to General Motors Institute. In 1982, the school became an independent from General Motors, and became GMI Engineering and Management Institute. On January 1, 1998, GMI Engineering and Management Institute became Kettering University.

University Park University Park Estates is a new 83.6 acre subdivision in the City of Flint, located just north of the city's major downtown commercial district.  This new subdivision, which consists of 155 spacious lots, has become a major focus for the City.

Mott Community College Mott Community College is a two-year degree-granting college that provides educational tracks that prepare students to work as technicians in industrial settings. Programs lead to associate degrees and one-year certificates.

Downtown Flint Streetscape The goal of the Saginaw Street Reconstruction and Streetscape project is to improve the function and aesthetic value of this critical downtown corridor.

Genesee County Courthouse The Genesee County Courthouse is undergoing renovations to expand its size and functionality.

M

Smith Village  The Smith Village Urban Renewal Area is a major section of a one-family residential area, which also includes some community facilities and at its edges, retail and service uses.

N The Flint Journal  The newspaper is currently replacing obsolete production equipment and plans on housing the new equipment on a new site in what is being called "The Flint Journal Modernization Project". The location of the new site will be just to the east of the Journals' current building located on first street.
