The Pictures below illustrate the current condition of the sidewalks and streets, however, once the streetscape is completed it will reestablish Flint as one of the great Midwestern cities.  The streetscape will not only improve the aesthetics of downtown Flint but safety will also be enhanced.  Please Check back to see the marked improvement once the Streetscape Project is completed in Spring 2003.

Current Condition of the Saginaw Street Corridor

It should be noted that once the streetscape project is completed the pictures below illustrating the poor current condition of the Saginaw Street corridor will be but a memory.

This photograph shows the poor existing condition of an "aged" downtown Flint sidewalk.  Also, seen here is a view of how wide the existing sidewalk is from the back of curb to the face of building.

Here is another view of a typical sidewalk in the downtown district of Flint.

Illustrated here is the typical condition of the street where pavement partially covers bricks.

Pictured here is the corner of Saginaw and Third Street, where the existing brick pavers are deteriorating and in need of replacement.
