The Grand River Neighborhood District has four
primary goals to make their community a better place to live. To
accomplish these goals, Waterstreet Architects are performing a building
survey of the area.
Vehicular Circulation
Blocking off Oak Street, Stockton Street, and Ann Arbor at
Court Street. This should be done in such a manner as to enhance the
commercial frontage on Court Street by establishing a landscape buffer.
The street right-of-ways could be incorporated into the buffer strip. |
Residential Improvements
Residential enhancement. Encourage existing land holder to
improve their properties, especially absentee landlords. Utilize all
available agencies, building inspection and other, to ensure improvements
and compliance with codes. Actively pursue potential for in-fill housing. |
Pedestrian Needs
Redesign existing blocks to provide
walkable
environments. |
Commercial Development
Edge development, along Ann Arbor and West Second Street.
Use multiple housing for buffering and land development. |
