Original  and Current Condition of Theatre

The Capitol Theater should be restored to its original grandeur, to the greatest extent possible, given budget limitations.  The original interior design should be recaptured, which would include detailed plaster work, paint and color scheme, carpet pattern choices, light fixtures, and special effects such as stars, clouds, sunset, etc.  In order to compete with other venues, we believe the Capitol Theatre should be restored to an opulent appearance, on par with the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The beauty of the facility does strengthen the appeal of the venue and significantly increases attendance at shows. Patrons become as excited about the experience of the theatre as they are about the act or production they intend to see.

The Theatre's current condition, although needing extensive renovation to restore to it to its original grandeur, is in relatively good condition. Much of the exquisite architecture is still in great condition but not to the level of the original condition of the Theatre. Chipped paint, ornamental decoration, seating and other parts of the Theatre need to be restored. The following images illustrate the original and current conditions of the Capitol Theatre.
